Q:Who are the competitors of the DMP FLO Suite? [top]
A:Luckily for us, most or all of our competitors break down into two categories. On one side, there are a lot of software vendors focussing (sometimes very successfully) on a niche market. They will provide very good DAM solutions, or a W2P application for stationary. If that one type of application is what you are looking for, they might be more suited than our DMP FLO Suite. But they often lack the scope and flexibility you need to offer a wide range of services On the other side several of our colleagues offer software similar to ours (with differences in approach, of course). But they usually target end customers and large corporate implementations. With matching licensing models.
Q:What are the skill and knowledge requirements for my personnel? [top]
A:It really depends on what you are going to use the DMP FLO Suite for. Most of our customers deploy with only technical DTP personnel. Some technical expertise is needed, but you don't need teams of programmers. While creative people can work with the system, you will typically need one administrator who is able to maintain things.

Q:Do I need programmers to work with the DMP FLO Suite? [top]
A:Most of our customers don't have any programming skills. Some of them don't even use the DMP FLO Suite for projects, but have their own "standard" way of deploying everything. To be fair, having a bit of programming knowledge in house (or hiring it in at the appropriate times) does increase the power of the DMP FLO Suite.

Q:You use so many terms that I don’t know. What do they all mean? [top]
A:We try to use terminology that is recognizable to everybody, but since the software spans so many departments, and since we innovate so much, it's almost inevitable that you don't always know what we're talking about. The attached document provides you with some of the most commonly used definitions.

Q:Who uses the DMP FLO Suite? [top]
A:The range of direct customers and end customers is very wide. But a rule of thumb is that anyone who publishes any type of data can benefit from the DMP FLO Suite.
Q:Do you support Quark templates? [top]
A:Unfortunately not. Only Adobe InDesign documents are supported as templates in the DMP FLO Suite.
Q:Can the DMP FLO Suite work with my existing product database? [top]
A:Absolutely. Synchronizing with existing databases (or replacing them if needed) is something that our customers do on a daily base.
Q:I work in a creative environment, so I suppose database publishing and Web2print are not for me or my customers? [top]
A:The DMP FLO Suite is an automated environment, so obviously repetitive content is more likely to be a candidate for use. But there are plenty of tools for creative workflows as well. Because even a creative workflow contains lots of repetitive steps that can be automated. The communication with the customer, simple text corrections, approval workflows, etc.

This workflow, implemented for several customers who prefer to remain anonymous, allows creative documents in InDesign to be put online. Marketing stakeholders are able to approve or even correct the files, while they follow a prepress workflow.
Q:I already have a solution (asset management, content management, …) but it lacks some of the features of the DMP FLO Suite. Can they be made to work together? [top]
A:There are lots of possibilities for this. Components of the DMP FLO Suite can be made available for external systems, and vice versa.
