While DMP FLO Suite comes with a lot of pre-built applications (including web2print solutions), its true power lies in flexibility. The flexibility to rapidly deploy new marketing solutions such as web2print applications, for example.
Configuration
For starters, most of our existing web2print or database publishing applications are made to be configured with a minimum of effort. New skins, look & feel, content and templates can be added without technical knowledge. Setting up new customers can be done in a matter of minutes.
But this is a feature that most web2print solutions share. It's when the exceptions start being important, or when a large end customer has very specific needs, that Rapid Application Development becomes important. Rather than using pre-defined logic and configuring it in a certain way for the new customer, you can develop completely new logic (or ask an integrator to do it for you, of course).
Re-using of applications
One of the reasons that development is the FLO Suite is so fast, is that you have tons of tools based around the re-use of code and applications. Most of the time you can start a new application based on something existing, and simply make the changes necessary for the new customer. But even if you start from scratch, you can use the building blocks provided by our system. You don't have to worry about file uploads, preview generation, filling in of templates, and many many other graphical functionalities that come with a web2print solution. Just worry about the interface and the application logic. The graphical and specialized part of it is usually handled behind the scenes.
This also means that you don't always need programmers with a high degree of specialization in graphical applications. As long as you have a project manager or a team leader being able to determine the correct workflow, they will manage. Working with InDesign Server, for example, is completely transparant. The programmer never knows about this, since it is a prepress department making the templates (in many cases). And they can be used in the application with a single line of code.
Custom Demos
It goes without saying that this type of rapid application development has a huge impact on customer loyalty and the cost of your projects. But it can also play a major role in your sales cycle. Custom demos (with logic very specific to the prospect) are a common thing with DMP FLO Suite. Some of your competitors might be able to set up a storefront in a new look & feel (just like you can). But how many will be able to demonstrate that new feature requests can be set up in a minimum of time as well? As a matter of fact, that's the way we convince a lot of our own customers as well.
