InDesign Viewer

FLO Media Viewer can be used to visualize InDesign documents. This way, designers can send versions of their artwork to end customers without needing to send a printable PDF. It also allows for some very nice other creative workflows.

InDesign Viewer

Using FLO Media viewer, any InDesign document can be converted to a flash book. This book can be placed online, and visualized to end users. The book (if it is a multi-page document) can be flipped through, and individual pages can be zoomed in for more details of the artwork.

This InDesign Viewer can be used to publish artwork to websites (thus offering an additional service to the end customers), but it can also be used as part of creative workflows.

Publish from the InDesign interface

In either case, you can create the InDesign Viewer from the Adobe InDesign CS3 or CS4 interface using the plug-in delivered with FLO Media Viewer. Creating the InDesign Viewer can be as simple as exporting the file to PDF: select a pre-defined configuration for the viewer, and export.

Configuring hotspots

The resulting InDesign Viewer can also contain hotspots. These are clickable regions which can link to external websites. Within the InDesign interface, the plug-in allows you to configure both the location of these hotspots and the content they can link to. You can also select a text and have that converted to a hotspot (for example all URLs).

Annotations

For creative workflows, you might want to create an InDesign Viewer which also allows the end user to comment on the artwork. Within the flash book, the end user will be able to draw annotations on the artwork. These annotations can later be automatically imported into the original InDesign document again (or you can do it manually, using the plug-in).

Versioning

And within those same workflows, you could create an InDesign Viewer which also visualizes a previous version of the artwork to the end user. This way he can switch back and forth between the new and old version, quickly spotting the differences.

About the abilities of the Flo Media Viewer... Are these features 'out of the box' available or is an intervention of an integrator needed? I suppose that a frontend has to be created to make the features useable towards clients of Flo-users.

Thanks for the feedback
